Our Mission
Our mission is to connect people back with their hearts through creative experiences in nature. Set on a seven-acre farm along the Pecos River in Ribera, New Mexico, Esperanza Farm Arts offers a sanctuary where art, nature, and the human spirit come together.
We believe every person carries the creative spark within them. Our role is to provide the space, guidance, and community that lets that spark ignite.
Meet Mary Magdalena

Mary Magdalena, founder of Esperanza Farm Arts, has been guiding people toward spiritual awakening through transformative experiences with art and nature for over five decades. Her work is rooted in a deep belief that creativity is a pathway to the heart — a way of accessing our truest selves and our deepest connections to the living world.
Mary's offerings draw from a rich well of artistic tradition, nature wisdom, and heart-centered practice. Whether she is leading a children's summer camp, guiding adults in plein air painting along the Pecos, or holding a community gathering under the New Mexico sky, her presence brings warmth, depth, and joy.
The Farm
Our seven-acre farm is more than a setting — it is a partner in the work. The Pecos River runs along our land, cottonwood trees line the banks, and the high desert light of northern New Mexico transforms every moment into art. We have both indoor and outdoor classroom space, a kitchen for community gatherings, and open land for nature walks and plein air painting.
Esperanza Farm Arts was established as a non-profit organization to grow the infrastructure needed to welcome more people into these transformative experiences — and to ensure they remain accessible to the northern New Mexico community for generations to come.
